A young boy describes how his father was murdered in the Kandahar massacre. [x]

Provided with subtitles. Originally in Kandahari Pashto. It hurts a lot worse especially when you can understand the language. I can, and the English translation below doesn’t exactly do justice. This is a documentary you should watch nonetheless.

Heartbreaking.

It hurts hearing it in the language and accent of my own :’( Everything.. all of it.. i can’t even describe the pain i feel.

a sign of a coward is they carry more weapon than you.

Why is the “The third world” like this today?

It is usually forgotten that the state of the world today is the result of a history of colonial atrocities perpetrated by Europeans. Previous invasions of non-Western lands by European imperialists allowed them to gradually institutionalise the global dominance of their nation-states. Contrary to conventional opinion, the Western powers have managed to maintain this global dominance and influence on the affairs of non-Western nations despite a process of apparent decolonisation, thereby continuing to exploit their wealth and resources to this day. Colonialism served fundamentally to shape these structures of contemporary society, to the extent that today’s international politico-economic structures are the logical culmination of colonial history. Though the Western academic world sometimes expresses shame and regret regarding these colonial exploits, their history has been more or less wiped out from the consciousness of Western society.

In many places, a decline in population accompanied the vast loss of wealth. In Asia, the introduction of European diseases was a source of sweeping death for vulnerable indigenous people. In Africa, millions were lost to slavery. In Latin America, between 1500 and 1650, the population declined from about 40 million to 12 million, because of forced labour, malnutrition, disease and slaughter. We should consider the fact that prior to colonisation, states on each continent (such as India, China, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Java, Sumatra and South America) had socio-economic structures as advanced as those of pre-Renaissance Europe, and had already attained a sophisticated level of political development. These ended up degenerating - economically and politically - in the face of Western commerce, firepower and disease.

In brief: Colonialism ruined the world. It brought diseases, hunger, loss of lives & poverty to people who were flourishing, if it weren’t for the greed of Europeans the third world would have endured. You should really read the article above, it sheds light on the forgotten victims of greed & imperialism & the true face of our beloved West.

"

If you feel everything is getting out of hand and you haven’t any time left for yourself here is a start to regain control. Just a start in managing your time.

After eight hours of sleep and eight hours of work, allocate the remaining third properly; a portion for your Lord, another for your family and finally the remainder for yourself.

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said;
“Your Lord has rights over you, your soul has rights over you, and your family has rights over you, so give each of them their rights.” alBukahri

wisdom-love-life-heart-mind-soul:

Let time pass by, and do as it wishes;Be strong when the decreed is delivered to you.Wail not for your afflictions in the nightFor, worldly miseries are not everlasting
When calamity strikes, face up like a manAnd let your traits be that of forgiveness and fidelityIf your flaws are plenty and are manifestAnd your wish is that they be concealed
Know, that forgiveness hides every faultAnd how many flaws are veiled by generosity!Neither does agony abide, nor happinessAnd neither bad-times nor times of joy and comfort
Never should you seek to humiliate your enemiesBecause the desire to disgrace them is in itself a maladyDo not expect forgiveness from a miser,The parched do not quench their thirst from fire
Your sustenance will not diminish by neglect,And it will not increase by exertion or by more toilWhen you have a heart that is satisfied, content -You will be like the one who owns the whole world
And those who have entered the sphere of deathThe earth cannot hide them nor heavensSurely, the land of Allāh is vast, but -When misfortune strikes, the air becomes stifling
Let the world betray and deceive every moment -No matter what; there is no escape from death.

Salam all :) Below are a few links to help you if you are looking to learn how to pray/make wudu. As someone who needed to learn how to pray some time ago, it does take time, effort, and patience when memorizing all that needs to be done, but inshAllah with the help of Allah (swt) it becomes easier with time and you learn quickly. A suggestion is to make a booklet to study from, this will take time putting together but it will help nonetheless. You can study from this at anytime and maybe it even put it in front of you while praying to follow, just turning the pages, till you memorize it all inshAllah. For example: Open up Microsoft Word and for each prayer (fajr, duhur, asr, maghraib, isha) write down what to do step by step with images of the position you are supposed to be in.
Example:

-(Say 3x) Subhana Rabbi Al Ala (Glory be to my Lord, the most High)-

-(Say) Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)-
Make sure to indicate what rakah you are memorizing when doing this (if you decide to make a booklet to study from, which inshAllah you can pass onto someone else that would like to learn how to pray). This will take time, but inshAllah this will help you to memorize it all and pray.
